CEANA STAR PROGRAM
INTRODUCTION
In recognition of her
increasing responsibilities and the enormity of the
tasks ahead, the Council of Ewe Associations of North
America (CEANA), at its convention in Toronto, Canada on
August 30th, 2003 adopted a membership program to raise
funds to support CEANA programs/projects and the
Secretariat. This idea was introduced by Mr. Kobla
Agbanyo of Ewe Haborbor of Southern California and was
accepted by the Council of Representatives (COR). The
Secretariat was assigned to coordinate with Mr. Agbanyo
to restructure and to implement the program.

Phase II for future enhancement
and implementation with the following additional
suggestions:
The
second phase of the project will require the acquisition
of a sizeable parcel of land around the Ho Traditional
area to be developed in phases as MODERN HIGH TECH
CEANA VILLAGE.
The
village will include among other things:
A theme park where names of
our STAR MEMBERS will be engraved and recognized,
An IT Training Center for the Schools in the region,
(Toronto is ready to take up that project)
A library and Museum of Ewe History, Customs,
Traditions, Artifacts, Modern Ewe Arts and Crafts. Ewes
in the UK are already on this project and we only need
to join them and provide a place for their resources to
be made available to all Eweland. A School of Ewe
language, Ewe Art Forms, Modern and Traditional Ewe
Music and Dance,
A Center for Youth Leadership, Self Empowerment Skills
and Peer/Teenage
Counseling.
A
modern Recording Studio for Ewe Music and Musicians to
Record, Produce, Promote and Market Ewe Music, (There
are people in Toronto interested in this project)
A
school for Small Business and Cooperatives, Ewe
Entrepreneurship and Career Counseling, (Etornam of
Toronto is interested in this project)
A center for training Social worker, Health care workers
to start home visitations and counsel teenagers on
Sexuality, Teenage Pregnancy, Sexually transmitted
disease, Self Esteem and Assertiveness skill etc.
Many
other projects could be added as the Village develops.
Various Chapters or Group of Chapters can take up
individual projects and work with people in the region
to develop them.
This is a long term Project but
donation of the land and at least the IT Center
should be ready by CEANA 2005 in Ghana.
