On behalf of the Secretariat and the entire CEANA family, I am delighted to announce that the 2007 CEANA convention will be held in Ho, Ghana from July 27th to Aug. 5th. This promises to be a Convention/Community service venture where we plan to help build 3-unit classroom complex for one of the Junior Secondary Schools in the region. We also plan to dialogue with community leaders, academicians, chiefs and politicians on economic development issues. This is an opportunity for Ewes in the Diaspora, and friends of Eweland, who have been putting off their vacation plans all this time to join forces with CEANA to make this a working vacation, that will help put smiles on the faces of children with potentials and promise but are receiving less than adequate education, at times in very deplorable conditions and with limited resources.
This trip will also offer us the opportunity to celebrate CEANA's achievement and time to meet with friends and families we have not seen for a long time. We are currently negotiating with three airlines for affordable rates. We have contacted Chances, Kekeli and Woezor hotels in Ho and the average rate for a night is around $52 with breakfast and $45 without breakfast. We are anticipating that the package deal for the 7-day stay in Ho for the convention will cost approximately $2,000.00. There will be a nonrefundable deposit of $200 which must be paid by March 30, 2007 to hold a place. The center of all activities will be at Ho. Persons interested in this historic working vacation are advised to submit their names and their payments to the following:
