2006 CEANA Convention - NEW YORK CITY

 

 

CONVENTION THEME:  -  Educational Development in Eweland: Focusing on Infrastructure Improvement. 

 

KEYNOTE SPEAKER:  - Dr. George Afeti, Principal, Ho Polytechnic. Ghana 

 

SPECIAL GUESTS:   - Hon. Kofi Dzamesi, Volta Regional Minister, Ghana and other dignitaries. 

 

CONVENTION PROGRAMS: The convention programs will begin on Thursday, August 31st through Sunday, September 3, 2006. The program for the convention is as follows:  1) Thursday – 9am – 6pm  Arrival of COR members and CEANA Executives.

2a) Friday – 9am – 5pm. Meeting of the Executive Council (Secretariat) and delegates from member organizations known      as the Council of Representatives (COR). The meeting is generally referred to as "COR Meeting."
  B. 7pm – 10pm Youth Night – An evening of Dancing and merry making.
3) Saturday 9am – 4pm - General meeting - Open to all Convention attendees, individuals from member organizations, delegates and the CEANA Secretariat. Lunch will be served by the Hotel.
4) Saturday 7pm – 2am - An evening of Dinner Dance/Banquet at the elegant Sheraton Meadowlands Ballroom, in an atmosphere of pomp and pageantry.
5a) Sunday 10am – 11:30am – A special non-denominational Church Service.
  b) Sunday 12noon – 7pm. A mother of all Picnics  c). 8pm   Mise gli loo. African Folklore.

 

HOTEL INFORMATION: The Convention activities and lodging will be at the Sheraton Meadowlands Hotel & Convention Center, 2 Meadowlands Plaza, East Rutherford, and NJ 07073.

 

Hotel Room Rates: $85.00 per night plus tax for both single and double occupancy without breakfast. (Breakfast can be purchased in the restaurant at $14.00 per person all inclusive).

Reservation Deadline: Reservations must be made by Aug. 9th, 2006 and must be confirmed with a major Credit Card to guarantee the above rates. You must call early to reserve your hotel rooms at this affordable low rate.

Convention Package: There will be a flat Convention Fee of $130.00 per person for each convention attendee (Children above 12 years and all adults). Children ages 5 – 12 who will be accompanying their parents to any of the Catered Events will be charged a flat fee of $40.00.   


Pre-Registration: For your convenience, we encourage you to pre-register for the Convention. Request for advanced registration can be made by writing to us. Please enclose your check or money order in the amount of $130.00 made payable to UVA CEANA 2006.
