REGISTRATION.
There will be a flat Convention Fee of $130.00 per person for each attendee (children 12years and above and adults).Children from 5 to 12years accompanied by a parent at all catered events will pay a flat fee of $40.00 Upon registration you will be issued an official CEANA name badge which will identify you as an official CEANA Convention Delegate. This badge entitles you to attend the Friday night dinner, Saturday lunch, the banquet and all events. All CEANA Delegates must wear their name badge to all sessions. Please note that the official Convention badge is not transferable.
Your registration fee of $130.00 will help defray the cost of all catered lunches, dinner, banquet, convention ‘T’ shirt, journal and the Sunday Picnic. Any Delegate who looses his/her badge may purchase a replacement for $130.00 with no exception.
Registration desk will open at the following times:
Thursday Aug. 31st 12noon to 6pm
Friday Sept. 1st 8am to 7pm
Saturday Sept. 2nd 7am to 3pm.

For your convenience we encourage everyone to pre-register for the convention to enable express check in at the registration desk and also help us determine the number for the lunches and dinners. The convention activities and lodging would be at the following hotel:

Hotel Room Rate: $85.00 Plus 6% NJ Sales tax and 8% City & Occupancy tax for single or double occupancy. For those interested, there is an all inclusive breakfast at the hotel at $14.00 per person.

Reservation Deadline: All reservations must be made by August 9, 2006 with a major credit card. Start making your reservations now to avoid last minute rush and disappointments. Please do not book more rooms than actually needed since the hotel will demand payment for all cancellations.
The hotel is about 15 minutes Drive from Newark Airport, opposite Giant Stadium, and we advise that all flights should arrive at Newark Airport for easy access to the hotel. If you arrive at any other airport you will be responsible for your transportation to the hotel. Transportation will be provided on an hourly basis from the Newark Airport to the hotel. Pick up location is P4. Take the free air train to P4. Go downstairs and wait to be picked up.
The program for the Convention is as follows:
1) Thursday - Arrival of COR members and CEANA Executives
2) Friday - Meeting of the Executive Council (Secretariat) and delegates from member organizations known as the Council of Representatives (COR). The meeting is generally referred to as “COR Meeting.”
2b) Youth Night with a DJ providing Music
2) Saturday (Daytime) – General meeting. This meeting will be opened to the general Convention attendees, individuals from member organizations, delegates and the CEANA Secretariat. There will be an afternoon Luncheon, featuring special guest speakers.
3) Saturday (Evening) – An
evening of Dinner Dance Banquet at an elegant hotel in the Garden State, featuring an atmosphere of pomp, and cultural performances. In the spirit of promoting the Ewe culture, we encourage people to come dressed in their traditional attires.
4) Sunday – 10am – 12noon A non-denominational church service followed by a-mother of all picnics, featuring cultural dances, a variety of delicious ethnic cuisines, various games and lots of other entertainments.

From East
Take the Lincoln Tunnel to Route 3 West to the Stadium/Racetrack Exit. Follow the signs for Sheraton Plaza
Drive, continue till you find the Metromedia building and look for the entrance to the hotel on the right.
From Garden State Parkway
Take Exit 153 from the Garden State Parkway onto Route 3 East. Take the Stadium/Racetrack Exit then follow the signs to Sheraton Plaza Drive.
From North
Take the George Washington Bridge to the New Jersey Turnpike South. Then take Exit 16 W and go through the Toll Plaza. Follow the signs for Route 3 East and the service road. Keep to the right and the hotel entrance is on the right.
From New Jersey Turnpike South I- 95
Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 16 W., follow to Route 3 East and the service road. The hotel is on the right.
From West
Take Route 3East (or Route 46 East to Route 3 East). Follow the signs for the Stadium/Racetrack Exit to the Sheraton Plaza Drive.
